Action
The usual target audience is male, action movies mostly includes violence, superheroes, or a chase. The themes are stereotypically more intriguing or targeted to males. They connect to the genre from them being seen as sporty and play rough.
Most followed rules within the genre are where a person has heroic path by saving someone or a big amount of people. Usually the main character is a regular person or someone who views themself as useless or looks down at themselves then a big issue happens where they decide to do something good leading to them becoming a hero or a greater person. adding in a ticking clock, car chases, or heists that make the audience be on their edge of their seat, along with huge explosions and fighting scenes that keeps that certain audience entertained.
Action films use a specific types of technique, like hand held cameras during fights or any scene that can make the audience feel anxious. Slow motion is used during running scenes, explosions, or when "loosing someone in battle", making the motions feel like it's all happening in real time.
The narrative image is all about the feeling you get before the movie even starts. It's like the promise that you’re going to see massive explosions, stunts, and a comedic hero . It's seen everywhere in marketing, like on those posters that always use orange and blue colors or show the main star and a cool grey background.
